This year is about understanding how the nature of God gives us our identity. Each chapter helps us redefine our labels as we look at a specific attribute of God. This month is about being CONFIDENT, written by Kathy Whited.

“But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely on God, who raises the dead. And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us." 2 CORINTHIANS 1:8-10, NLT
He Says I Am... Confident
We all desire to walk in a place of confidence. Confidence comes with the assurance of our self-worth in Christ. It comes from knowing that the One who loves us the most, sees ahead of us and leads us one step at a time. Our steps are solid, not slippery when we place our unwavering trust in Him! Knowing He is trustworthy and more than ENOUGH to complete the work He began in us will give us the confidence we need to do what He has called us to do.
A great example of the immutability (unchanging and unmoving) character of God is seen in Paul's letter to the Philippians. Philippians 1:6 confirms we can be confident in knowing that the work He began doing in you, He will bring to completion. God has not changed His mind about you. What He starts, He finishes. We can take confidence in this. We can all identify with those times when we, or someone we know, begins a project with good intention and enthusiasm, but as the excitement fizzles, so does the interest and what was begun is not completed. God is not like that. We can be confident and trust Him to continue the work He began in us until it is finished. There will be rough patches along your journey in this life, but we can be confident that He is with us and will bring us through those times, refining us as we grow in Him. He is more than ENOUGH for every moment of our lives, no matter the difficulty we may experience. With each struggle that we come through, our trust in his dependability and faithfulness increases! Similarly, we can have confidence that He will help us.
Hebrews 4:16, ESV says, "Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
In knowing that God is completely trustworthy, we can confidently bring all of our concerns to Him. In this Scripture we see that when we do that, we will be a recipient of His mercy and grace. He has promised to help us, we don't need to carry our struggles alone. We can ask for His help and trust that He will give us guidance when we have lost our way, peace when we are fearful, and grace and mercy when we have lost hope. He remains faithful even when we are not (2 Timothy 2:13) because He is completely trustworthy! Be confident in knowing He is for you and will be with you all the way!
Like the Philippian church, we can be confident that He will complete the work He has started in us. We can be confident that He never changes, and He will never leave us. He is walking with us on this journey, taking us through a refining process. Trust Him with the timetable of your life, allowing Him to redefine your character to make it look more like His. He is the Master Craftsman, and you are His masterpiece. You can Trust Him confidently with your life.
