Mission & Vision
Excerpted from the Assembly Report of Rev. Ted Miller, Director
During the last five years, I have been able to reconnect with many old friends and make many new friends. Relationships truly are the currency of the Kingdom. The heart of Stewardship Services is to provide our entire PCG family with the financial tools to be fully funded for the area of God’s Kingdom in which you are called to serve. Those financial planning tools include various insurance options, investments, debt elimination strategies, and education. PCG ministers have an amazing opportunity in the tax code to be the only person who can earn money, save money, and potentially spend that money without ever paying any taxes. We are here to serve you and your congregations. As we all work together as One Mission—One Movement, Stewardship Services aims to encourage and equip the PCG family to thrive and be blessed in our finances. Let’s be blessed so that we can be a blessing.

As you know, we have already reached the halfway marker through this Decade of Harvest, and by God’s grace, I believe that we are impacting eternity together. Below, allow me to tell a tale of what the Lord has done and how far we’ve come.
• Before 2020, we recognized that our online presence had all but dissipated. Not only was our website and branding antiquated, but across the board, PCG Communications seemingly existed only to maintain the status quo. With renewed efforts to engage on social media and through the launch of a new website and online store, we have been afforded the opportunity to connect, resource, and witness as one church in 6000+ locations. On average, we are now receiving 30,000 page views and reaching at least 15,000 people across 90+ nations cumulatively on a monthly basis.
• This magazine, The Pentecostal Messenger (PM), remains an investment into our ministers as a free digital resource and communication tool with high production quality. In fact, last year, we submitted one of our magazines to a contest hosted by the Evangelical Press Association, where we were awarded a certificate for 3rd Place, Best in Class.

Over the last five years, Messenger Publishing House has grown and expanded to form an umbrella department we are now calling “PCG Resource Development.” For nearly a decade, Messenger Publishing House (MPH) functioned almost independently in Joplin as the other ministry and missions departments relocated to Bedford, Texas. In 2020, however, MPH finally transitioned, establishing greater unity and stability. At the General Assembly in 2023, we were able to testify concerning the $100,000 budgetary turnaround that took place between July 2021 and December 2022. MPH is now financially self-sufficient and primed for growth. For example, by means of our new online store and resource database (pcg.org/resources), we now have an ever-growing library that contains at least 400 free and for purchase resources (including articles, sermons, devotions, books, apparel, curriculum, courses, and more). Allow me a moment to highlight three such resources available to the Pentecostal Church of God...
Did you know that 80% of those who engage in a discipleship group remain in the church five years later? That’s four times more likely than those who merely attend Sunday morning worship! With new lessons created for every age group and every week of the year, MPH provides materials of great value to small groups, discipleship ministries, and Sunday school classrooms. Still, they remain an underutilized resource in our Movement. If the statistic above is accurate, we believe these materials represent an incredible opportunity for long-term retention in your congregation. For more information, please call our offices (1-800-444-4674) or browse our available options on the website (pcg.org/store).
FXP was developed to help young leaders (ages 17-30) explore their callings through mentorship and community. To date, 265 individuals have participated, and roughly 20% of those have gone on to earn credentials with the PCG! Forerunners around the country are now serving in local churches, continuing their education at Messenger College and elsewhere, mentoring other young leaders, and some are even serving in district-level leadership. To learn more or register for the upcoming fall 2025 term, visit pcg.org/forerunner. In this Decade of Harvest, our missional goals are not far-fetched. Through the Forerunner Experience, we pray for and anticipate reaching at least 500 next-gen leaders by the end of the decade—half of the overall goal through only this one endeavor. Through our other online courses, the current trajectory suggests we can equip more than 1500 prospective ministers. Yes, we have work to do, but we believe the Lord can “excelerate our missional pace” so that even these figures will be exponentially surpassed.

Messenger College is making a difference! Since the Pentecostal Church of God has united in mission to witness a Decade of Harvest throughout the 2020s, leaders at Messenger College have also been working to identify and fulfill missional goals at home and abroad. Allow us to share some institutional updates.
Messenger College is making a global impact! Over the last few years, MC students participated in mission outreaches and internships in Brazil, Chile, Hungary, Spain, Cuba, Nicaragua, Iraq, and Guatemala. We also welcomed our first international student from Brazil and our first PCG international staff from Trinidad and Albania. Additionally, MC conducted “mission chapel” services in which each student adopted a country to pray over during the year, and our PCG missionaries to Spain, Kent & Jody Brown, taught a course called “Missional Strategies” to further equip our students in evangelism. Since the last Assembly, our new concentration in Intercultural Studies has grown! This concentration is designed to launch students as missionaries with PCG Global Missions. This summer, our students and alumni will walk El Camino de Santiago (again) to share the Gospel and guide those seeking answers.
MC faculty have provided training each year at the Encounter Conferences and General Assemblies. Over the last two years, we have also offered free webinars on Christian Worldview and Pastoral Care, a free youth series on Christian Worldview, plus special presentations at district training events. In addition, our staff have spoken at district youth camps and supported several district youth events. Next year, MC is offering dual credit classes! High school students can get Bible and biblically-based, general education college classes through MC online.
MC established and expanded articulation agreements with Christ For The Nations Institute and the Arkansas District’s Accelerated Institute of Ministry (AIM). MC continues to offer a cohort program where groups can work within local churches and/or districts, and has also launched a prior learning portfolio course to allow ministers to get credit for the learning experiences they gained in ministry.
MC worked with local mission outreach ministries, such as Mission Arlington and Six Stones, to support outreach ministries within the DFW community. MC also worked in outreach endeavors in Odessa, Texas; the Bay Area, CA; Los Angeles, CA; New Orleans, LA; and Irving, TX. Additionally, MC conducts an annual prayer-a-thon, where each minister, each church, and each ministry department (including all the workers within the departments), plus individual requests, are prayed for by the MC students and staff.
In partnership with Global Missions, MC launched a program to train our youth in Campus Ministry. This will be led by Lynnea Martinez. Statistics show that 70% of our young adults leave the faith after graduating from high school and attending secular colleges. The Associate of Arts degree at Messenger provides a firm theological foundation for our youth to become missionaries to secular universities, especially if they transfer to obtain degrees other than ministry or counseling.
Messenger College is a small, fully accredited college recognized by the Department of Education, providing academic excellence and foundational ministry training for the Pentecostal Church of God. Our faculty comprises six doctoral degrees and several experienced master’s degree professionals. Our accrediting agency has affirmed us for our “excellent programs.” A PCG leader recently stated, “Messenger College is the best kept secret in the Pentecostal Church of God.” This is primarily due to our commitment to academic excellence, vetted curriculum, and teacher to-student ratio. Our classes are small, providing more significant interaction between our students and their professors.
As you can see, our students are also provided with the opportunity for hands-on ministry training. Not only do they learn our doctrine and how to think critically to defend our faith against conflicting theories and ideas, but they also have opportunities to minister in various settings.
The real proof of our value is witnessing what our alumni and former students are accomplishing. Currently, in PCG leadership, we have one National Youth Director, one National Women’s Ministry Assistant, two Directors of Global Education, one Global Missions Assistant, five District DYDs, two District Secretary-Treasurers, and one District Bishop. Several of our more recent graduates serve as youth pastors, senior pastors, and in other areas of ministry within the local church. One of our graduates is planting a Hispanic church while working as a counselor at a local community college and pursuing his master’s degree. One couple serves as a regional field representative for Global Missions, while another works with an international outreach ministry, and several alumni work in the public school system. Our former students are making a difference in their communities, the PCG, and across the globe!
