Throughout the summer and early fall, the PCG has experienced “One Mission—One Movement” in a season unlike any other in its 103-year history. For the first time ever, our PCG family from every corner of the globe streamed to Manaus, Brazil for a Global Conference. As upwards of 15,000 people united in worship, we received a snapshot of the Kingdom; and then as every nation went forth from there to partner in our annual initiative to Impact Eternity, we reinforced our mission to continue growing Christ’s Church.

In this issue of the Pentecostal Messenger—the final of a three-part series emphasizing our desire to “Pursue God’s Presence, Contend for Mission, and Grow the Church”—we reflect on these two monumental events and contemplate the question: What does growing the church look like practically?

Though no simple answer exists, it is our belief that church growth begins, first and foremost, with church health. As Rev. Jon Jennings writes in the first featured article, “When we commit ourselves to implementing healthy systems, we invite God to do what only He can do—grow the church.” Producing fruit is not optional, so it is for this reason that the Pentecostal Church of God has invested its resources to multiply ministers and churches through such ministries as PCG Church Coaching, the Forerunner Experience, and Online Minister Studies.

And secondly, it is our belief that healthy, growing churches are multi-generational and multi-cultural. The continuing impact of Bible quizzing, talent expos, summer camps, devotional studies, missions trips, and outreach events are invaluable to the process of raising up another generation capable of carrying the flame of evangelism to a dying world. As you read these pages, may the Holy Spirit compel you into action that you too might impact eternity, inspire your calling, and invest in the Movement.

"We are One Mission—One Movement. We are PCG."
