COVID-19 Updates

West and East Encounter Conferences cancelled due to COVID-19 precautions. Fayetteville, AR still taking place as planned.

POSTED December 10, 2020

It is with great sadness and much deliberation that we have chosen to cancel the 2021 Encounter Conferences in Concord, California and Indianapolis, IN. Due to continued restrictions in the states and the rise of COVID-19 cases in the area, we felt it would be best to abide by local health and safety regulations at this time.

For those who pre-registered for the Ministry Intensives on Thursday and Friday, a refund will be issued and should appear on your statement within 7 business days.

The Central Encounter Conference in Fayetteville, AR will continue as planned on January 14-16, 2021.
PCG postpones the 2020 global conference and cancels its annual Summerfest.

POSTED APRIL 6, 2020

In light of the cancellation of various district events and nationwide restrictions, the Global Conference 2020 has been rescheduled. We know our churches and leaders have been planning and working hard to be able to attend this historical event. So instead of waiting to make the decision, we felt that it was safest and in the best interest of all involved to go ahead and reschedule this event.

This news is certainly a bummer, but we believe in a mighty God and feel that this only presents an opportunity to increase the passion of our prayers.

As we continue to navigate this time, the World Missions Department will continue to provide updates regarding the Global Conference and when the rescheduled date it. God Bless.

In light of the cancellation of various district events and nationwide restrictions, Summerfest 2020 has been cancelled. We know our churches, leaders, and students put forth much effort in fundraising and preparing for Summerfest each year. So instead of waiting to make the decision, we felt that it was safest and in the best interest of all involved to go ahead and move forward with the cancellation of the event.

This news is certainly a bummer, but we believe in a mighty God and feel that this only presents an opportunity to increase the passion of our prayers. God can heal this land, so please consider joining us in the global prayer movement we've joined forces with—
unite714.com.
For all churches and districts, we're now asking that you turn your attention to summer camps, which have been and will continue to produce life-changing moments for our students. Pray with us that the virus restrictions will be lifted and that camps this summer will be better than ever.

As we continue to navigate this time, the National Youth Ministries Department will continue to provide updates regarding Summerfest and other future events. God Bless.

PCG recommendations concerning social distancing.

POSTED MARCH 19, 2020

ATTENTION PCG: In view of President Trump’s recent recommendations, supported by the Executive Leadership of the PCG, we would encourage that all services, events, and activities in your church facilities be suspended until further notification. Even though you may not be able to meet as a congregation, please stay connected as a church family. As a way to support our districts, leaders, and pastors, we are providing the following resources. Please share these with as many pastors and leaders as possible.

Additionally, we've developed a manner in which you can share your needs with us. We would love to partner with you in prayer and help in any way that we can.

1) Constant Communication

One of the most important areas during this unprecedented time is providing encouraging communication to church congregants. For over two years, the PCG has been using a communication tool produced by ViewSpark for optimized texts and emails. To help with congregational communication and to provide an online giving option, the leaders of ViewSpark will be hosting a short webinar demo via Zoom next Tuesday, March 24 at 3pm EST. If you would like to register forth is free webinar, simply click the link below. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

2) Live Video-streaming

Currently, the U.S. government is recommending “social distancing” and not holding gatherings of more than 10 people. What does that mean for our churches and especially for our smaller churches currently without this capability? We have have provided a short article to assist church leaders as they consider the implications of live video-streaming for the strengthening and encouragement of their church families.

3) Online Giving

Currently, many Millennials born from 1981-1996(ages 24-39) don’t use a checkbook for bill-pay or giving, and the need for online giving will only increase over the coming weeks because of COVID-19.Especially in light of our current circumstances, online giving options are certainly the wave of the future, so we would recommend that you consider various online giving options. Though there are many options available, the PCG is currently working with GiveCloud by Prolific, a faith-based organization that has guaranteed financial renumeration to the PCG for every local church or district that chooses to use it. PCG cancels March onsite intensive. Global Conference and Summerfest still on.

POSTED MARCH 16, 2020

“It’s easy to become disheartened or feel overwhelmed with all that is happening in our world today. Coronavirus (COVID-19) has become a pandemic in more than 45 U.S. states and 150 nations around the globe; and we are seeing the effects in businesses, churches, our workplaces, and the economy. But be encouraged with this:

OUR GOD IS A GOOD GOD, EVEN ON A BAD DAY.

In Psalms 27:13 David writes, 'I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.' Remain confident that our God is good, even still. We will continue to monitor the situation and pray for those affected by COVID-19.”

-Dr. Wayman Ming Jr, General Bishop

We have been in contact with the CDC and other denominational leaders, and we will continue to monitor the situation closely. As we learn more and navigate through next steps, we will continue to release additional information as is necessary.

Thank you in advance for your patience as we walk through this challenging situation one day at a time while determining how best to serve our Movement and react missionally. We will continue to pray for God's protection over you, and as always, should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let us know.

May God bless you and keep you safe. Further updates will continue to be chronicled below, as well as our other online and social media platforms.

Ministry Intensives

Since we desire to protect your health and those in the communities we serve, we feel at this time that cancelling the spring onsite ministry intensive (March 23-26) is the wisest course of action. Of course, we will continue to plan for the upcoming January event, as the Ministry Intensives are integrated with the regional Encounter Conferences.

For those who were planning to participate in March 2020, we would be happy to roll over your registration for the January event. Otherwise, we would certainly be willing to refund you of your spring 2020 registration fee.

To process your refund, please contact keaton@pcg.org

Global Conference

Despite the fact that there have been many cancellations of imminent meetings, conferences, sporting events, etc. across the U.S. and around the world, we feel at this time that it is yet premature to cancel the 2020 Global Conference in Manaus, Brazil.

While the coronavirus is continuing to spread to almost every state in the U.S. and to almost ¾ of the countries of the world, precautions are being taken worldwide by governments and individuals to slow its spread. We believe in the precautions being taken, and we are doing our best to act in both faith and wisdom for the health and wellbeing of not only the Church but all our citizens.

We will continue to monitor this challenging situation and make the best decisions possible for everyone involved. We have been meeting with General Missions Board to discuss the situation and will continue to honor their recommendations.
